Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the StoicWalk iOS application ("App") built and operated by Henrik Dymke ("I", "me", or "my"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of the Service

StoicWalk is a productivity and wellness app that uses Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls) framework to temporarily restrict access to apps you select until you have completed your daily step goal, as measured via Apple HealthKit. The App also tracks streaks, displays Stoic quotes, and offers achievement features to support your discipline practice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use StoicWalk. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Account

You must create an account to use the App. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify me immediately at dymkehenrik@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Free and Premium Tiers

StoicWalk offers a free tier with core functionality and a premium subscription ("StoicWalk Premium") that unlocks additional features. The current pricing is displayed in the App and on the App Store.

4.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account via the App Store. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to premium features until then. I do not offer refunds except where required by law.

4.4 Price Changes

I may change subscription prices. You will be notified in advance and must consent to the new price before your subscription renews at the new rate.

5. App Blocking Disclaimer

StoicWalk uses Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls frameworks to block apps you select. I do not guarantee that app blocking will be available or effective in all circumstances, as it depends on iOS system capabilities and permissions. App blocking is a personal productivity tool — I am not responsible for consequences arising from being unable to access blocked apps during an emergency or other critical situation. In an emergency, always use Apple's Emergency Call feature, which is never blocked by Screen Time.

6. HealthKit Data

Step count data is read from Apple HealthKit with your permission. The accuracy of step data depends on your device's sensors and Apple Health configuration. I am not responsible for inaccurate step counts or failure to unlock apps due to sensor or HealthKit errors.

All content in the App — including text, graphics, logos, and software — is my property or that of my licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the App without my written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Supabase, RevenueCat, Google Sign-In, and Apple services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. I am not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. I do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to lost productivity or missed goals. My total liability to you for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid me in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Berlin, Germany, for the resolution of any disputes, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.

13. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. I will notify you of material changes via the App or by updating the date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance.
